FAQ on GAC 2.2.1.

If you have questions, comments, or suggestions, that have not been answered by this FAQ please feel free to contact the Administrator.

Your primary profile photo is intended to represent "you." However, you're welcome to use photo without "you" in it as long as it does not represent you as another person.

GAC 2.1 states that you may not "impersonate anyone else with your profile." GAC 2.1.1 further clarifies that "Your profile photo may not be that of a celebrity, public figure, or fictional character."

Questions regarding profile photos:

Do I have to use a picture of myself?

No. You don't have to use a photo at all. But if you do, "your profile photo may not be that of a celebrity, public figure, or fictional character," though any other appropriate photo is fine.

Can I use a cartoon or drawing of myself?

    Sure.

What if I am a celebrity?

You're always welcome, and encouraged, to use a photo of yourself.

Can I use an image of a presidential candidate or other political figure?

Not unless you are that "presidential candidate or other political figure."

Can I use a photo of a character from a movie, cartoon, or video game?

    No.

Can I use a photo of me with a celebrity or public figure?

Of course. We don't have anything against celebrities or public figures - just the impersonation of them.
