My eldest brother is in a band, too, actually, but I can't put their name down because they don't have one. It's sad, because they're really good; they only have seven original songs, though.

Heh. No...no supernatural beings for me. There are basically two camps in Satanism--some people view Satan as a deity (although I believe they're in the minority), and for others, it's more a philosophy than anything; it doesn't require any specific beliefs. It's largely a "joke" religion, handling real philosophical concerns with a heavy dose of sarcasm.

I was reading over some old posts in the politics thread, and I saw this in one of your posts:
"Would you vote for candidate Z even though he's Jehovah's Witness?"
I understand the point you were trying to make about the irrelevance of a political candidate's religious beliefs, but strictly for the sake of accuracy, I'd like to point out that JW's are banned by their religious leadership (The Watchtower Organization) from participating in government in any way. That includes voting, holding political office, serving in the military, or even saluting the flag. According to them, doing such things would be directing worship towards the government and making the state into an idol. Weird, I know. I just thought I'd point that out.

Per the blog-thread concept, I'm hoping to keep the discussion contained there (I'd like to sort of make a mini-thread of it), so check there for replies and other people's posts.

Lol, I know I have. So much of that sort of situation arises from saying something not necessarily wrong, but saying it in the wrong way... it'll be a chill group for people to just get amusement from wry situations. Heck, the people that put their foot in their mouth often gotta find some way to have fun with it.

How'd you see the title? It was submitted to moderation, but they blocked it so I didn't think it ever went up on the forums. Fair enough move on their part, as it may have looked like I was advocating premarital sex (I wasn't). It was basically about the Greek root pornea being better translated as prostitution than fornication, and I was wondering how that would affect the way certain Scripture were interpreted. It's been my latest area of Bible research, and I thought I'd share and get some opinions. Ah well, perhaps i'll surface as a blog in the future.
