I echo the many other ladies...as many as God sees fit to bless my future husband and I with! =)

I have two, and I'm happy. If I have more, I'll be happy. If we decide not to have more, I'll still be happy. Smile

My goal is to have a house where lots of children come in and out. That was my mothers way.

I want my own, too, but I'm not up for number contests.

... as many as God will give me! I used to want 4... 2 boys and 2 girls, but then I was convicted that someday I would have as many as God would give me. Smile

Blessings!

I want as many as God will give me. Some people think that my family of 5 is large but I always thought that we just had a medium family. Razz

I agree with Sheila Billings:
Quote:
Don't get too wrapped up in your high numbers and forget that God may choose for you not to have any.

Let me say this, my parents waited for 8 years till they were blessed with my sister. Them the rest of us came along, now my sister is married and has started a family of her own. Very Happy I think that God knows what He is doing. Very Happy

We have 2 now and hope to be blessed with at least a few more. After experiencing pregnancy complications with both children, I perhaps will choose not to have many more biological children if these complications manifest in future pregnancies, but we desire to adopt from overseas also. Ultimately we would like to have as large a family as we can train spiritually, nurture emotionally, and provide for physically.

I agree with Christi Rose, I would like to have as many children as the Lord desires for me to have and that my future husband and I can "train spiritually, nurture emotionally, and provide for physically." I've always wanted 12 children, ever since reading Susanna Wesley and deciding I didn't know what I'd do with that many (24!) but that I would love if the Lord would give me at least 4-12! Smile I realize that my health is not fantastic and that may not be the Lord's will. I would also love to adopt children! It's such a pleasure to find so many like-minded young women here!
Blessings!

8!!! I have always wanted to have 8 children! It used to be:7 boys and then a baby girl, but then I'd have to worry about them spoiling her and I WILL NOT have a spoiled child! So, I'll leave it all up to God! He knows better than I what I can handle!!!

I'm new as well, but I have no qualms about jumping into this discussion. Laughing Since I first had an understanding of womanhood, I've felt that God has plans for me to be a mother. It's one of the strongest desires of my heart! I have thought many, many times about the number of children I would like to have. But by the conviction of the Holy Spirit, I've already decided that I won't use birth control, so I'm guessing there will be a lot of babies in my future... Laughing
I have no problem with it whatsoever. I know God won't give me more than I can handle, and besides, His command was to be fruitful and multiply, as some of you have already said.
I would also like to adopt, if it's something my future husband would agree to. If I could have any dream come true, it would be to have an enormous house, and have it always full of children (my own as well as others). There are so many children in the world in need of a loving family, and it breaks my heart that so many of them are neglected. I'll end up taking up the entire discussion if I get into all of that, though... nothing infuriates me more than the subjects of abortion, child abuse, and human trafficking (most of them are children, you know). And when I say nothing, I mean NOTHING.

I truly mean when I say, as many as the Lord will bless me with. I look forward to the day when I have my own children! Smile
However, if I was to pick an actual number, I'd probably say 10. Smile

I'd love to have 9 or 12 or more. I don't know why I like the numbers 9 and 12, but really whatever God gives to us (my future husband and I) we will raise them for His glory!!

Well, of course it all depends on what God chooses to bless me with but I'd really like to have a family of about 15 or 16 kids... maybe more... Smile But we'll have to see how that goes! Above all, I want my husband and I to raise our family to serve God and honour Him.

Right now I would be happy with just one healthy baby! I'm having a difficult pregnancy (heart problems, bad MS into the second trimester), and if this happens with each pregnancy, my husband may decide that we're done.

So dream now, girls! Once you're married (step one, lol!) you may find that God's plans for you are much different than the ones you made for yourself. Infertility, trouble conceiving, miscarriages, difficult pregnancy, husband's decisions, and early death of a husband all contribute to the number of children you'll be able to have. So dream now, before reality whittles your brood of 10 down to 3, or takes your 4 up to 12! And always remember that small families are just as good as large ones. Smile
