I know it's late April, but winter won't give up in North Idaho (it's snowing outside).
We took a backcountry ski trip/hike last Saturday. I'm not trying to prop myself, but I did write a blog post about it if anybody is interested. It wasn't quite as bad as I made it sound (my posts tend to be somewhat bitter and sarcastic sounding), but some of it was pretty harsh.
I figure Mr. Nathan was nice enough to let me join this group, I better contribute something! Very Happy

If anybody has some backcountry stories or trips they would like to tell, please feel free! It's a fun way to get out, and fun to talk about.

Note: A lot of the bowl we were in was unskiable due to avalanche danger, most of the culoirs were blocked at the top by cornices that were some 25-35 feet in height! Biggest cornice I've ever seen. You might be able to make 'em out in the pictures.
