This is my last year in 4H, Sad. Heart breaking! Anyways, last year I took a project which I made completely myself, and called it, "My Frugal Family", which didn't fit, and won't when I expand it by a HUGE amount this year.

The over view of the project is self sufficient, organic, green living. I'm wanting it to be about home grown produce, home made products, ect. *Note: This topics is not to debate why eating meat is wrong, organic or not, ect. It's not a discussion against my project. I'm looking for help*.

I am looking around at many different people/farms right now. I'm looking into learning about spinning wool, collecting and keeping honey bees, maple trees. Organic vegetable, fruit, and herb gardens. I've also found someone who raise's organic chickens, and makes organic make-up ect, who seems very interested in helping me. I'm also plan on attending an indoor organic green house to learn from them!

I'm posting on here for more help! I'm looking for a TON of ideas, anything you can offer. I want this project to make it to State Fair, because I really enjoy this.

Also as part of my project, I'm putting up a clothes line, rain barrel, and a compost bucket in our house. We already garden, and it's ALL organic. We also raise rabbits.

I also plan to stop all consumption of processed food, pop, sugar, and am thinking about cutting out meat as well. Then I'm also going to start doing more healthy activities such as Yoga, and I am joining a Run Club in March! I'm also planning to no longer eat store bought bread, and make my own from now on. We are a well adjusted family who already lives half of this life style. My mother and I were a part of a Farmers Market last season selling organic herbs, veggies, soaps, lips balms, and quick breads. So I know a fair amount already. I just would like to learn/talk to people who are further into it then I am. I hope some people on HSA are, or can at least give a little advice!

Any advice anyone has for me would be awesome! I really want this project to do well. Razz You can post here, or feel free to email me at

Thanks so much!
