Here's a big HOWDY to all of you cowboys and cowgirls.

I live in the Texas panhandle. Unfortunatly I don't have a horse. One day I hope to have a farm and then I'll aquire some livestock, poultry and a horse.
My family and I lived on a farm for about four years as caretakers of the land and animals. It was the most wonderful four years I've ever had. And a great learning experience. There was a Shetland pony on the farm. He was a nice pony; with the most choppiest stride imaginable.
But he was good for the childeren.
My favorite horse breed is the Arabian. They have such a beautiful, proud look to them.
For my beginner horse I might have to go for something a little less high spirited. Maybe a Paint; I really like them as well.
I like western riding. To ride bareback looks like fun.
This summer I went to Colorado and did some trail riding in the mountains. It was beautiful. Trail riding is what I intend to do with my horse. Though It would be fun to get into dressage as well.

I look forward to talking and hearing from the rest of you all.

Daniel

Howdy to you Daniel,

Yes, we had horses, cattle, and chickens at one time. Hope to at least get the chickens again someday. Shetlands can be choppy, Laughing but I learned on one and they are great. Oh, Arabians are so beautiful, but I remember being so nervous riding one, that I am not sure I could have one. Shocked Paints would be good. That is what I am looking at gettting next....maybe Confused

I have just now had a chance to reply, but yeah a fellow HSA that thought Dressage looked interesting!!! Very Happy

That must have been neat to ride in the moutains. Oh and bareback is my favorite way to ride, you can feel the horse's everymove.

Anyone been trail riding?

There is nothing else in God's wonderful world, quite as AWESOME as a trail ride, bareback, on a great horse that you can trust!!!! Or a moonlight ride after a new snow!!!! Gorgeous!!!
