Acoustic guitar and mandolin, hopefully the dulcimer, soon... and piano, I want to play so badly, but we don't have one! Also violin... really, I want to play everything, but those are my main interests...

I have to say that for me it is the violin. I love playing bluegrass, celtic, and other styles. It fits well into almost any kind of music. But, the violin sounds so much better when it is played with the piano, flute, guitar, etc. My mom plays piano and flute, and I have brothers who play acoustic and bass guitars. Very fun to play with them! You also have to remember one other kind of instrument! My dad is real good at playing the radio!

I heard that if you play the violin you can play the mandolin and vice-versa, with a little practice. Is that true? I love the mandolin but only play the violin.

I mainly play flute, but I just recently had the epiphany that I'm allergic to metals...  That explains a lot.

I play the guitar, the flute, and the djembe, but I play the guitar the most. I'm still a pretty basic beginner, but I'm competent enough to accompany vocalists as long as I've practiced the song or it's in the key of G.  I recently bought a cello, though, so I'm hoping to get good on that this year.
