"PUT YOUR DREAM TO THE TEST" BOOK REVIEW
By John C. Maxwell

Let me start off by saying this is a awesome, read. It definitely changed my viewpoint on several things I had misconceptions about, and things I did not have misconceptions about. I have always felt when it comes to dreams there is a fine line between keeping your head in the sky and dream, and being overly practical. I feel he walks the line well, saying that we need to “take time to dream every day” but at the same time says “The more unrealistic your dream, the more you be tempted to depend upon things that you cannot control to make it a reality.” Also so he says that “ There is no Magic power in having a dream. You can't just wait for it. You have to work for it.” You also cannot accomplish the dream without a team. In order for that to happen you must successfully transfer the dream to others lighting the same fire for your dream which you have to work together to accomplish it. I found the story he told about Bob Taylor the founder of Taylor guitars. He said when Bob talked about making guitars he would light up and overflow with passion- so much so making the other feel the same rush and passion. In the first chapter he addressed the question of discovering if quote “your dream” is actually your dream or some one else's. So many people out there are living others dreams not ment for you at all! He States “ “Anytime you see people pursuing a midlife career change, you can almost be certain they had been living some one else's dream and lost their way.” But he also states “ When the dream is right for the person and the person is right for the dream, yo cannot separate them from each other. “ Also he makes the point that your dream will never come true without sacrifice and leaving your comfort zone. “ And there is always out there who will not like your dream- give your harsh criticism. What ever you do, don't give up- embrace criticism and lean how to work though it and never never give up. This is just scratching the surface but, I believe that everyone with a vision, a dream, a passion- this is a must read! This will totally make your think about things you had never thought about before and give you a road map to accomplishing and living your dream!

Why DID The Chicken Cross the road?

[  Mood: Amused ]

So, I was going though some of the old rambles threads, and I found this. I thought it was so funny i would post it.

Why DID The Chicken Cross the road?

GEORGE W. BUSH
We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road or not. The chicken is either with us or it is against us. There is no middle ground here.

AL GORE
I invented the chicken. I invented the road. Therefore, the chicken crossing the road represented the application of these two different functions of government in a new, reinvented way designed to bring
greater services to the American people.

RALPH NADER
The chicken's habitat on the original side of the road had been polluted by unchecked industrialist greed. The chicken did not reach the unspoiled habitat on the other side of the road because it was crushed by the wheels of a gas-guzzling SUV.

PAT BUCHANAN
To steal a job from a decent, hard-working American.

RUSH LIMBAUGH
I don't know why the chicken crossed the road, but I'll bet it was getting a government grant to cross the road, and I'll bet someone out there is already forming a support group to help chickens with
crossing-the-road syndrome. Can you believe this? How much more of this can real Americans take? Chickens crossing the road paid for by their tax dollars, and when I say tax dollars, I'm talking about your money, money the government took from you to build roads for chickens to cross.

MARK TWAIN
The news of its crossing has been greatly exaggerated.

MARTHA STEWART
No one called to warn me which way that chicken was going. I had a standing order at the farmer's market to sell my eggs when the price dropped to a certain level. No little bird gave me any insider information.

DR. SEUSS
Did the chicken cross the road?
Did he cross it with a toad?
Yes, The chicken crossed the road,
But why it crossed, I've not been told!

PLATO
For the greater good.

ERNEST HEMINGWAY
To die. In the rain. Alone.

MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.
I envision a world where all chickens will be free to cross roads without having their motives called into question.

GRANDPA
In my day, we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Someone told us that the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough for us.

BARBARA WALTERS
Isn't that interesting? In a few moments we will be listening to the chicken tell, for the first time, the heart-warming story of how it experienced a serious case of molting and went on to accomplish its life-long dream of crossing the road.

JOHN LENNON
Imagine all the chickens crossing roads in peace.

ARISTOTLE
It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.

KARL MARX
It was a historical inevitability.

SADDAM HUSSEIN
This was an unprovoked act of rebellion and we were quite justified in dropping 50 tons of nerve gas on it.

VOLTAIRE
I may not agree with what the chicken did, but I will defend to the death its right to do it.

CAPTAIN KIRK
To boldly go where no chicken has gone before.

FOX MULDER
You saw it cross the road with your own eyes! How many more chickens have to cross before you believe it?

BILL GATES
I have just released eChicken 2003, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents, and balance your checkbook - and Internet Explorer is an inextricable part of eChicken.

ALBERT EINSTEIN
Whether the chicken crossed the road or the road crossed the chicken depends upon your frame of reference.

BILL CLINTON
It is one of the challenging problems of our time, isn't it? And, altho we have known of this problem for many years, nobody has ever taken it seriously enough to really feel the chicken's pain. Clearly we need to move forward on this issue in a measured, humane way, bearing in mind that the federal government can't be all things to all creatures, but that, in the final analysis, it is the Constitution of this great land of ours which guarantees freedom of action, within prudent limits, for all of us. God bless you, and thanks for asking.

DARWIN
It was the logical next step after coming down from the trees.

COLONEL SANDERS
I missed one?

BUDDHA
If you ask this question, you deny your own chicken-nature.

RALPH WALDO EMERSON
It didn't cross the road; it transcended it.

JOSEPH STALIN
I don't care. Catch it. I need its eggs to make my omlette.

L.A. POLICE DEPARTMENT:
Give us five minutes with the chicken and we'll find out.

My Opinion on The Avengers

Wed May 16, 12 2:17 pm

Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord. Romans 12: 19
Ok, I know everyone has been talking about the new The Avengers film, and yes I also know that it has great CGI computer graphics, and it's made over 1 billion worldwide, but hey that doesn’t make it good. The Bible verse at the top and the title should tell you something right off. Now I know. Well, they're “fighting the good fight” -of what Justice? Well, there each willing to lay down their life for their friends, and the public. - well, that's good and all, but let actually look at the content for a minute. First of all, it;s very violent. What was once the standard for R rated films, is now the norm for PG 13 film such as this one. We see people get punched, kicked, thrown, bashed, smashed, clunked, clinked, pounded, kneed, stabbed, shot, and vaporized. We see explosions, things blow to bits, and even a guy get run all the way trough with the blood rushing out. Read Matthew 5: 38- 39 says“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I say to you, Do not resist the one who is evil. But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. “ Exodus 20:13- “You shall not Murder” Matthew 26: 52-54 “Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its place. For all who take the sword will perish by the sword. Do you think that I cannot appeal to my Father, and he will at once send me more than twelve legions of angels? But how then should the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must be so?” Let's start off with the bad guy. Now “no shock here”.. right? “he suppose to be evil.” He not only personifies Satan, meanwhile making everyone bow to him, just as the devil tempted Jesus during his time on earth. In fact his benefactor makes a clear reference to Luke 10: 18 clearly referring to our villain as the devil himself. He also makes a clear reference to Luke 8:1 implying it to his evil kingdom- much deferment then the one Jesus actually spoke of in Luke 8:1. This is just on top of him being “a bad guy” at the core. What was shocking was the heroes. We have Thor, an ancient Norse god, who is referred to as a god in the film, breaking the first commandment, a guy who's anger turns him into a powerful green monster. He also tries to commit suicide, which we all know is wrong. Psalms 37:8 says “ Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself it tends only to evil. “ We have a guy who parades around thinking he's uncle sam. And we have a Billionaire playboy who dresses in a red metal suite. The “Heroes” use quite the selection of vile language such as 5 or 6 “h---” and “d—n” and a few “a--”, “p--”, “B—ch”, and B—tard” Not to mention all the times they thoughtlessly throw around the name of the LORD like a rag doll. Also breaking the third commandment. Christians I think we should take offense. What if some took your name and dragged it trough the mud a few times. Used your name as a put down. I think not. Our Hero's also lie and mislead, breaking the ninth commandment. A Quip is also made of at the expense of adoption. I find that offensive, because I was adopted and I think all who were adopted should take offense, if they love their family. A reference is made to a character being on weed. Drugs destroy lives, God's precious creation, and Visual references are made to other false religions. This Trash I have just described, is the topical action film today. Are us Christians so shallow these days that we will watch something as trashy as this? Why do people sacrifice there morals, and defy and disobey their God , The one who MADE them for just two hours of entertainment? Is our faith so meaningless? In John 14:15 it says “ If you love me you will keep my commandments” . The sad thing is to most this type of thing is morally acceptable. I challenge you to think, Would Jesus watch this?

I See Love

Some see a teacher
Standing on a hill
Speaking words of wisdom
Some see a healer
Reaching out his hand
To give sight to a blind man
Some see a dreamer
Wasting his life
On what can never be
Some see a fool
Dying for his dreams

But I see love (I see love)
I see love (I see love)
Light of heaven breaking through
Well I see grace (I see grace)
I see God's face (I See Gods face)
Shining pure and perfect love
When I see you
I see love

Some see a prisoner
Alone before his judge
With no one to defend him
Some see a victim
Beaten and abused
With all the world against him
Some see a martyr
Carrying his cross
For what he believes
Some see a hero
Who set his people free

But I see love (I see love)
I see love (I see love)
Light of heaven breaking through
Well I see grace (I see grace)
I see God's face (I See Gods face)
Shining pure and perfect love
When I see you

With your last breath
I see love
Through your death
I see love
I see peace in the eyes of the king
I see hope in your suffering (I see love)
I see a calm in the center of the storm
I see a Saviour

I see love
I see love
Light of heaven breaking through (heaven breaking through)
I see grace
I see God's face
Shining pure and perfect love
When I see you
I see love
When I see you
I see heaven breaking through
See Gods face
Shining pure and perfect love
When I see you
When I see you
When I see you
I see love
I see love
When I see

Some see Him walking from an empty grave

"You saw me before I was born." Psalm 139:16 (NLT)

As the curtain rises, Hannah hesitantly steps onto the stage for her theatrical debut in college. Yet before she can utter her first lines, Hannah—unscripted—collapses in front of the stunned audience.

After countless medical tests, all signs point to one underlying factor: Hannah's difficult birth. This revelation is nothing compared to what she then learns from her parents: she was actually adopted … after a failed abortion attempt.

Bewildered, angered, and confused, Hannah turns for support to Jason, her oldest friend. Encouraged by his adventurous spirit, Hannah joins his group of friends on a Spring Break road trip, embarking on a journey to discover her hidden past … and find hope for her unknown future.

In the midst of her incredible journey, Hannah finds that life can be so much more than what you have planned.

Hey everyone! Read this from the band Royal Tailor.

"We are 4 guys with a dream to change the world for the better by inspiring people young and old to live life with passion and vision! We formed 4 years ago and were recently signed (2 years ago) to Provident Label Group. We have played 100's of shows and have seen the issues students are dealing with first hand. Abuse, insecurity, broken homes, drugs and alcohol abuse, and many other issues are plaguing the lives of many. We believe that there is a better life to be lived and we want to share it with the whole world. Giving them the power to overcome the symptoms of a life without vision. We want to go into High Schools, Jr. High's, and College Campuses and present a life changing, high-energy, empowering concert that will open the eyes of the students to the possibilities of hope and a future. We want to do it right in the middle of their school day, right in the middle of their school! http://www.indiegogo.com/royal-tailor

The Impact

At the rate of the negative content that pop culture is pouring in the hearts and minds of teenagers and young adults, we cannot wait one more minute. We must speak now. We believe that there are people waiting for the opportunity to break out of the cycle of a visionless life and into the their destiny."
