Top 5 States: Texas Overtakes California
Wed Jun 04, 08 7:02 pm
As of June 3, 2008, the HSA membership rolls indicate that the greatest homeschool graduate population concentrations are in the following states:
- #1 Missouri.
- #2 Texas.
- #3 California.
- #4 Oregon.
- #5 Tennessee.
For a real-time report of the number of homeschoolers in each state see the following:

HSA has observed an astonishing and unprecidented historic moment here at the Top 5 States Headquarters.
Texas (#2) has sprinted ahead of
California (#3) and seized the coveted #2 position...a spot
California (#3) has securely held since the very beginning of the Top 5 States Reports! Speculation abounds on the response by
California (#3), no doubt taken completely unawares by this change in position. Will
California (#3) quietly concede its place to
Texas (#2), or will we begin to see increased enlistment in
California's (#3) roll numbers? With a 14-point lead, it would not
appear that
Texas (#2) is going anywhere, but perhaps
California (#3) has a slick game plan up her sleeve. Next month's numbers will tell the tale.
Meanwhile,
Colorado (#6) and
Tennessee (#5) have been engaged in a drama of their own.
Tennessee (#5) has once again snatched the #5 position out of
Colorado's (#6) hands, achieving their place in the Top 5 this month!
Colorado (#6) only 3 points behind,
could turn the tables on its long-time rival in July by recruiting only 4 additional graduates to HomeschoolALUMNI.org. But will they? Check back next month to find out.
The Top 5 positions aren't the only ones making news!
Washington (#9) is warmly welcomed as the 9th member of the prestigious 100+ Club, having reached 101 members during the month of May. Congratulations,
Washington (#9)!
The Gold Medal for greatest increase in HSA members is awarded to
Texas (#2) with an increase of 23 additional graduates from May 2 to June 3.
Missouri (#1) goes home with the Silver Medal with an expansion of 11 new graduate members, and
Tennessee (#5) earns the Bronze Medal by enlarging their numbers by 10 homeschooled graduates.
Be sure to turn up here next month to discover whether
California (#3) will contend for its former #2 position! Will
Colorado (#6) clamber over
Tennessee (#5) to earn a place in the Top 5 again, or will
Tennessee (#5) hold firm? Who will win the Gold Medal for most graduates recruited in the month of June?
Check back for all these answers and more in next month's Top Five Report. Until then, go tell the homeschool graduates in your area about HSA. We hope to see your state next in the Top 5!
