07 August 2008 Update

Thu Aug 07, 08 11:48 am

It has been a while since I updated this space. I got back from the States a few days before the 4th of July. I organized a party at the office at midday for everyone to grill burgers and sausages.

Fellow HSA'ers, Nellie, Abbi and Bethany (pictured below), showed up in the evening and I had another BBQ. The next day we did a bit of sightseeing and went to Hadrian's Wall after spending 3 hours at a used book store.

The past few weeks I spent a few evenings in Keswick at the Keswick Convention listening to several Bible teachings from ministers from around the world. Stuart Townend, Phatfish, and Keith and Krystin Getty were leading worship. They had several concerts which I really enjoyed attending.

On my birthday we had a team day in Keswick and after the morning Bible Reading I went walking. The weather was overcast and rainy, but I still enjoyed myself. I climbed to England's 3rd tallest point and got quite wet.

I bought new boots as a birthday present to myself.

The day after my birthday I moved house. The house move is one reason I have not been updating this spot as often. I have been cleaning the old place and getting ready to move. The semi (duplex) we moved into is not furnished so my housemate and I have been working on getting furniture, kitchen stuff, and other household things. We are still working on getting the new house sorted. Doors are sticking, the garden (lawn) is a mess, house is dirty, etc. At the new house I don't have a phone or internet for the next 1 and 3 weeks respectively as things are transferred from the old place.

I worked a bit on the garden on Monday. Before and after photos. I filled a wheelie bin 3/4 full.

The day after I moved house I was down in Oxford (Abingdon) for a friend's wedding. He is with OM Ships and married a lady from Hong Kong. This photo is of the newlyweds and their OM colleagues from Carlisle and the Logos Hope
