Ohio Joins Top 5!

As of September 1, 2008, the HSA membership roles indicate that the greatest homeschool graduate population concentrations are in the following states:
- #1 Missouri.
- #2 Texas.
- #3 California.
- #4 Oregon.
- #5 Ohio.
For a real-time report of the number of homeschoolers in each state see the following:
Alumni Network Population Distribution by State
For the first time ever,
Ohio (#5) has placed in the Top 5, overtaking the former title-holder,
Tennessee (#6), by a slim 4-graduate lead. Way to go, Buckeyes! Having once felt secure in the #5 position, it is unlikely that
Tennessee (#6) will long allow
Ohio (#5) to bask in this walkover. HSA may see some interesting activity in
Tennessee (#6) this month, as well as with their long-time challenger,
Colorado (#7), who also has an eye on the Top 5.
The Gold Medal for greatest increase in HSA members this month is awarded to
Oregon (#4) with an increase of 13 additional graduates from August 5 to September 1.
California (#3) attains the Silver Medal with an increase of 9 additional graduates, and
Texas (#2) and
Ohio (#5) share the Bronze Medal with an increase of 8 graduates each.
Virginia (#11) currently consists of 92 members, and
Arkansas (#12) includes 90. It is conceivable that we could see them both boast of over 100 graduates each by next month, so we'll definitely be keeping an eye on them. There are currently only 10 states that are home to 100+ HSAers.
Revisit next month to see if
Tennessee (#6) moves past its new challenger,
Ohio (#5), in the sprint for the number 5 spot! Will
Colorado (#7) dash beyond both of them in an astounding comeback? Who will win the Gold Medal for most graduates recruited in the month of September?
Check back for all of these answers and more in next month's Top Five Report. Until then, go tell the homeschool graduates in your area about HSA. We hope to see your state in the next Top 5 Report!
