Ah, the goodness of a modem that works (most of the time).
This evening I sang hymns at the nursing home in town with some of the choir for the second time, and I loved it.
Lovely hymns, voices raised in song, it just makes me feel so good. I hope (and believe) the residents enjoyed it as much as me.
I feel blessed by the lyrics of those good ol' songs.

I'm a big fan of hymns. They just don't write songs like they used to.

It's always such a wonderful experience to do things like that at a nursing home... both for the people there and you. Every month I go w/ several people from my church to play the piano and sing, and it's always to fun.

That sounds very neat! The young people in my church are learning some Thomas Tallis tunes (from the 1500s), and I just love feeling the history oozing from them! Not only are the lyrics biblical and refreshing, but the melodies are polished to form complete, multi-faceted diamonds of songs!
