[  Mood: Amused ]

Books, that is!

One of the difficulties of working at a library is refraining from checking out all sorts of books and things that come through the desk day by day, even though I'm pretty busy. This last month I failed miserably. Embarassed I even checked another out yesterday. Confused I have thirty items checked out on my card alone; these are a few of the books waiting for attention:

Good day! : the Paul Harvey story / by Paul J. Batura.

ILL-Under running laughter (rereading quickly - 'twas good)

Retro breakfast : memorable meals morning, noon, or night / by Linda Everett and Richard Perry.

ILL-Crazy love (reading fast, to catch up with Sunday school class)

The firehouse mystery / created by Gertrude Chandler Warner ; [illustrated by Charles Tang].

Mom 'n' Pop's apple pie : 1950's cookbook ; over 300 great recipes from the Golden Age of American home cooking / compiled and edited by Barbara Stuart Peterson.

Grow your money! : 101 easy tips to plan, save and invest / Jonathan D. Pond.

Seven events that made America America : and proved that the founding fathers were right all along / Larry Schweikart.

1984 : a novel / by George Orwell.

Country living : simple country wisdom / Susan Waggoner.

Get Clark smart : the ultimate guide for the savvy consumer / Clark Howard and Mark Meltzer.

Now they call me infidel : why I rejected the jihad for America, Israel, and the War on Terror / Nonie Darwish.

When you rise up : a covenantal approach to homeschooling / R.C. Sproul, Jr. (rerereading)

El Nuevo testamento (Spanish-English)

The 5000 year leap : the 28 great ideas that changed the world / W. Cleon Skousen.

The honey trail : in pursuit of liquid gold and vanishing bees / Grace Pundyk.

I think 1984 is the only one of those books that I've read, and it was... interesting. I think Orwell got kinda carried away with the sexual stuff.

Clark Howard is a good guy. I met him several years ago, and he signed a copy of Get Clark Smart for me.
