The steadfast, stubborn, and gullible
Tue Apr 28, 15 10:15 am
There are those who are steadfast in the faith. They know what they believe and how to prove it! They are unlikely to change with the winds of doctrine.
1 Peter 5:9
Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
There are those who are stubborn. They know what they believe but cannot defend it against the light of truth, yet they are still unlikely to change.
1 Samuel 15:23
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
2 Timothy 3:8
Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
There are still those who are simply gullible going to whatever sounds good at the moment or whatever works well for them.
Jude 1:12
These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
So, don’t be stubborn or gullible but be steadfast in the truth! Learn the truth and stand in it.
1 Corinthians 15:58
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
