Top 5 States: Holding Steady
Sat May 03, 08 11:39 am
As of May 2, 2008, the HSA membership roles indicate that the greatest homeschool graduate population concentrations are in the following states:
- #1 Missouri.
- #2 California.
- #3 Texas.
- #4 Oregon.
- #5 Colorado.
For a real-time report of the number of homeschoolers in each state see the following:
Alumni Network Population Distribution by State
Last month,
Illinois (#7) trailed
Colorado (#5) by mere inches in its efforts to achieve the #5 position. At the moment,
Colorado (#5) is holding its ground. But wait! There is a new challenger! In a stealth manuever,
Colorado's (#5) historic rival,
Tennessee (#6) has unobstrusively snuck up from behind and has even overtaken
Illinois (#7) in the chase. With a mere 3-graduate lead,
Colorado (#5) is, no duobt, feeling the heat!
In other news,
Ohio (#8 ) is welcomed into the ranks of the few states boasting 100+ members. At 98 graduates,
Washington (#9) could easily gain its place among these states next month!
The Gold Medal for greatest increase in HSA members is awarded to
Missouri (#1) with an increase of 13 additional graduates from April 1 to May 2.
Ohio (#8 ) and
Idaho (#22) share the Silver Medal with an expansion of 10 new graduate members each, and
Oregon (#4) takes home the Bronze Medal by enlarging their numbers by 9 graduates.
Be sure to turn up here next month to determine whether
Colorado's current position will be captured by either
Tennessee (#6) or
Illinois (#7), both of whom appear intent on earning a place in the Top 5! Will
Texas (#3) ever make the final push of recruiting just 6 additional graduates to leap over
California (#2) and earn the #2 position, or will it continue to be an illustration of "so close, yet so far away"? Who will win the Gold Medal for most graduates recruited in the month of May?
Check back for all these answers and more in next month's Top Five Report. Until then, go tell the homeschool graduates in your area about HSA. We hope to see your state next in the Top 5!
