Top 5 States: Ohio Maintains #5 Position
Sat Oct 04, 08 11:22 am
As of October 1, 2008, the HSA membership roles indicate that the greatest homeschool graduate population concentrations are in the following states:
- #1 Missouri.
- #2 Texas.
- #3 California.
- #4 Oregon.
- #5 Ohio.
For a real-time report of the number of homeschoolers in each state see the following:
Alumni Network Population Distribution by State
Tennessee (#6) and
Colorado (#7) made a valiant attempt to gain on
Ohio (#5), with an increase of 3 and 5 graduates, respectively, but the Buckeye State has tenaciously retained its position in the Top 5 by a 3-graduate lead. Can
Ohio (#5) maintain its upper hand with these two states breathing hot on its heels?!?!
Congratulations goes to
California (#3)for the greatest increase in HSA member graduates between September 1 and October 1! With an addition of 9 HSA members, the gold medal is rightly conferred on the Golden State for this edition of the Top 5 States Report.
Texas (#2) has struggled to overtake its coastal rival in this area. However, the Lone Star State did muster 7 additional graduates this month, and takes home the well-deserved Silver Medal.
Oregon (#4) and
North Carolina (#19) share the Bronze Medal with an impressive increase of 6 graduates each.
Top 5 States reports an update to the
Great Hawaiian Immigration situation, 65 transplanted HSAers still linger on the sandy shores of those fair islands, unshakably hoping against hope that Josh Van Vleet will yet come through with the cash rewards that were alluded to. They report that their persistent appeals have been repeatedly ignored, but note that at least the climate is exceedingly agreeable. It is to be hoped that someone will blink in this stand off and that the “Hawaiian” vacationers will either actually move to Hawaii or return to their original states so that the Top 5 States numbers can once again be an accurate picture of the HSA community.
Revisit the Top 5 States Report next month to learn if
Tennessee (#6) or
Colorado (#7) overtakes
Ohio's (#5) number 5 spot! Will any new states join the 100+ club? Who will win the Gold Medal for most graduates recruited in the month of September? It could be your state!
Check back for all of these answers and more in next month's Top Five Report. Until then, go tell the homeschool graduates in your area about HSA. We hope to see your state in the next Top 5 Report!
